No Life of My Own I feel as though I have no life. My husband goes golfing with work buddies and friends, while I'm at home cleaning and watching our kids. I have to give him notice if I want to go anywhere while he calls me up and says (not asks) "I'm going with _________ and we're going golfing! I'll be back by noon, bye." My husband is a preacher, and the church that we go to has old-fashioned values about women and men. I love my husband and don't plan on leaving, but I'm getting tired of being told where he thinks my "place" is! He doesn't want me to have a job outside the home, because it interferes with "suppertime". He wants his supper on time, hot and fresh off the stove and served to him as soon as he plops down in his recliner and turns on the television. |
