Mama's Kitchen Dilemmas

Hot Pepper Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp of hot red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 3/4 tsp of vanilla
  • 3 tbsp of corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup of heavy cream

Directions:

  1. Sautee the cayenne pepper and hot pepper flakes in the butter for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer them on low for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Serve warm.

 

 

 

Apple Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of tart apples, peeled, cored and boiled
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp of crushed clove
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of apple juice
  • 2 tbsp of butter

Directions:

  1. Bring the ingredients to a boil and mash them together.
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  3. Add more apple juice if the sauce begins to burn or is too thick

 

 

 

Banana Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of bananas, mashed
  • 4 tbsp of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of cream
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of flour or cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp of corn syrup

Directions:

  1. Set the bananas aside.
  2. Combine sugar, cream, flour, and corn syrup.
  3. Mix well and bring them to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and add the bananas.
  5. Simmer on medium-low for 10-15 minutes.
