It’s easy to get caught up in your workouts and want to push hard every single day, but doing so will quickly cause problems. Instead, strike a good balance.  Aim for three to four higher intensity days and then one or two lower intensity days along with one full day off.
If you do this, you will be sure that your body is getting enough rest to recover on a weekly basis.

Maintain Your Calorie Intake
Second, the next thing that you must focus on to prevent overtraining from taking place is to maintain your calorie intake.  If you’re not eating enough calories to fuel all the additional activity that you’re trying to complete, this too is going to lead to a higher risk of overtraining.
Especially when the goal is to build more lean muscle mass on your body, you want to be taking in more calories, not fewer. Understanding this and adjusting your diet as necessary will be critical to maximum success.

Get Enough Sleep
Finally, the last thing that’s a must-do to avoid overtraining with your workout program is to ensure that you’re getting enough sleep each day.  Sleep is the primary time when your body is going to repairing those broken down muscle tissues as well as healing itself from all the other stressors that you’ve encountered throughout the day.

If you aren’t getting at least seven hours of sleep each night, you can be sure that this will influence your ability to recover. Make a conscious effort to get more sleep each day and you’ll see noticeable benefits almost immediately.

Those are all the main tips to know to help you prevent overtraining and stick with your workout routine. If you can implement each of these then you should have no problem progressing as you desire without feeling high levels of fatigue on a regular basis.
